| About
My
name is Pino Trogu. I am a graphic designer living and working in San
Francisco. I was born in a small town on the island of Sardinia,
Italy. My father was a mason who taught me how to lay bricks in a
straight line. I was educated at design schools in Italy before
traveling to the Rhode Island School of Design on a Fulbright
Scholarship in 1983.
After earning my Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from RISD in
1985, I worked both independently and in design firms in New York,
Milan, Rome, and San Francisco. In the early 1990s I was an
Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Virginia Commonwealth
University in Richmond, Virginia.
I have practiced design independently in San Francisco from 1995 to 2005. In 2006/07 I was a part-time graphic design faculty at San Jose State University. Since Fall 2007 I am Assistant Professor of Information Design at San Francisco State University. design.sfsu.edu
